So as I sat around the house tonight and was looking for something to watch the film chosen was Ghost Rider Spirt Of Vengeance. Now this isn't a review it's an observation I've deduced as to the way this film was made.
Way back in the 1970s Marvel comics brought back monsters and horror to comic stories. One of the monsters created was Ghost Rider a demon spirit that seeks revenge for innocent blood being spilled. the monthly titles were hot, Dracula, Werewolf By Night, Adventure into Fear , Man Thing, and Ghost rider.
Horror was hot and Marvel wanted to expand to mature magazines. Oversized black and white interiors with painted covers the magazines went out to the stores.Among the several titles were Hulk, Punisher and Dracula.
The stories featured unedited violence and nudity. The Marvel Magazines did not have to follow the comics code, so readers could see Morbius murder a cult leader and the like.
Well your probably saying to yourself this says Ghost Rider, well let's get to it. Well I believe the team making Ghost Rider 2 went for a Marvel Magazine look with the film. The way the camera moves, the characters and the feel of the 70's is all there. So if you get chance to see this again look at it as a marvel mag style film it will probably make more sense. take a look.
Kind of think of it, wonder if thats what happened to that Punisher movie with the missile and the parkour guy.
